Kunjapuri is positioned at a height of 1645 meters and lends a panoramic sight of the Himalayan peaks to the North and Rishikesh, Haridwar and the Doon valley to the South. Kunjapuri Temple trek is very much famous for trekking in Rishikesh. Traveling towards Gangotri, about 6 kilometers from Narendra Nagar the road bifurcates at Hindola Khal, leading to the shrine, which is 5 kilometers further. Being a main religious place, thousands of visitors come throughout the year especially throughout 'Navratras' (April and October). Grand Celebrations are held during the Dussehra festival. One can witness excellent sunrise or sunset on the Greater Himalayan Peaks and the vast Indo Gangetic plains. Visit the Kunjapuri Temple at sunrise for panoramic views of the Himalayas in the distance and the Ganga River below. On the five mile trek down, pass through local villages and farms, as well as the Neer Gaddu waterfall.

You will be picked up from The Himalayan Experience Office in Tapovan Laxmanjhulla Rishikesh around 5am and taken to the Kunjapuri Temple by car. The trip takes about an hour. Once you reach the temple you will climb 250 steps to the inside, where you'll find a small shop where you can have a light breakfast and cup of tea or coffee. Wait here for sunrise, which lights up the Himalayas in a beautiful glow, eventually shining on the town of Rishikesh and the Ganga River. After the sunrise, start your trek downhill. The total trek is about 5 miles, so bring comfortable shoes. Along the way you will pass mountains, villages, farms, and more.

Near the end of trek you will see the Neer Gaddu Waterfall. Here, you can bathe if you wish. At the end of the trek you will be dropped back at The Himalayan Experience Office.
